5 Ways Travel Changes You As a Person

May 6, 2019 By Melissa

When you’ve been away for a while, everything feels so different after you return home again.

As you step out the front door and embark on your journey, you don’t know what to expect. Sure, you might have watched some videos and read about your chosen destination. You probably have an itinerary planned out. Maybe you joined a tour.

But until you’ve lived, breathed, and seen somewhere with your own eyes, nothing compares to experiencing it in person. Books may be useful for gaining insight and knowledge, but they don’t quite capture the vividness and emotions associated with a place.

5 Ways to Sneak More Reading into Your Daily Routine

May 28, 2018 By Melissa

What is the easiest way to absorb information, learn from others’ experiences, and escape to faraway places?

That’s all well and good, but there’s just one problem. Time. Every day, we have a never-ending list of tasks, errands, and chores. As we get older, the responsibilities pile up, leaving little space in our schedule to read. Even if a book looks enticing, we put it aside until it can be squeezed in later.

While it can be hard to find a quiet afternoon, catching up on a book can be combined with regular routines to save time. Here are five ways you can sneak in that book you’ve been meaning to read:

5 Great Reads for October

The Rustout Issue: Why We Tend to Stagnate

May 4, 2017 By Melissa

We start off the same way.

In the beginning, we’re excited, eager, and energetic. We have dreams we want to pursue. A desire to make something of ourselves, coupled with an earnest intention to overcome any obstacles that come our way.

Somewhere along the way though, we hit a wall. We stop learning. We look around and see other people are content with where they are. So we sit and rest for a while in a safe haven, until we feel motivated enough to start working on our goals again. We wait.

That is, until awhile turns into months, then years. One day, you look back and realize that you’ve been stuck in the same spot for the past decade. What would your younger self think?
